The University of Pittsburgh Journal of Technology Law and Policy

TLP > About > Mission

Since its inception, the Journal has evolved into a dynamic Internet publication whose ultimate mission is to enhance scholarship and practice on issues related to technology law and policy. The Journal of TL&P endeavors to be a forum for authors to discuss and analyze the latest technology law and policy issues through their works.

Specifically, the Journal is intended to facilitate the exploration into emerging areas of the law affected by technology. The Journal of TL&P is committed to fostering a "Culture of Publication" through the issuance of high quality articles, and student and practitioners' notes. The Journal will publish written works from academics, students, and practicing lawyers to act as a resource for those interested in technology law on local, national, and regional levels. The Journal will continually explore the boundaries of technology and where technology and the law intersect with government, society, education, business, and politics. To further this end, TL&P has been cultivating a "Culture of Publication" philosophy since the fall of 2002.

The Journal has engaged in a variety of scholarly activities and advancements since its inception in 1999. In fact, the Journal continues to add diversity of thought and legal scholarship to the School of Law, within the local legal community, and because of its Internet presence, the world. The Journal is dedicated to continuing this tradition and cultivating its "Culture of Publication" as its readership and reputation grows. The hard work exhibited by the Journal's 100+ alumni and Members has lead to an Internet publication of which the School of Law can be proud.

The combination of the Journal's achievements, continuity, and longevity are not only supported with words, but has been proven by its results. The Journal of TL&P has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 1999 and its members can finally say with pride that the product speaks for itself. Looking forward, the Journal has a bright and prosperous future.
